Original Composer Background (I would include this just to give credit of the song composer)
Sugarfree was a Filipino pop-alternative group that was formed in 1999. Their sound was heavily influenced by the likes of Popsicle, Eraserheads, Oasis, and Radiohead. The initial line up had The Pin-Ups' and Ciudad's Mitch Singson on drums. Singson left the band in August 2006 for personal reasons. Quisumbing immediately took place.

"Wag Ka Nang Umiyak"
Wag ka nang
umiyak, sa mundong pabago-bago
pag-ibig ko ay
totoo
ako ang iyong
bangka, kung magalit man
ang alon, ng
panahon, sabay tayong aahon
[Chorus]
Kung wala ka nang
maintindihan
Kung wala ka nang
makapitan
Kapit ka sa akin,
kapit ka sa akin
Di kita bibitawan
Wag kang umiyak,
mahaba man ang araw
uuwi ka sa yakap
ko
Wag mo nang
damdamin kung wala ako sayong tabi
iiwan kong puso ko
sa yo
at kung pakiramdam
mo’y wala ka nang kakampi
isipin mo ako
dahil puso’t isip ko’y
nasa yong tabi
[Repeat chorus]
…di kita
pababayaan
Kapit ka, kumapit
ka
(para sa buhay ng
buhay ko)

REACTION TO THE SONG
The song maybe common now because it has been used by a teleserye for its official themesong but it has been my favorite themesong since KZ paved her way to anticipate her own version. The song brought an eargasm to me when I first heard it, later on, I kept it in my playlist always. It has a natural power that can melt emotions and it was my antidote whenever I feel sad.
KZ Tandingan has a unique quality of voice that her own version was loved by many. The song carries a sensation that an individual can relate. As the title of the song says, Wag Ka Nang Umiyak, you can connect it to love or even into your own personal reflection. It is truly a heartfelt song that every lyrics on it were written accordingly.
On the first stanza, it is stated there that even if the world would change eventually, there won't be a change of heart. He is your refuge even in tough times and there is always a way out. In love, the world might be against the both of you but if the love is pure and true, the two of you would fight for it no matter how hard the situation is. In my personal reflection, it is God that tells you not to give up on things. Everything might get worse but there is always a track that leads you home; to see the brighter things.
On the chorus part, it is (I think) the explanation of the whole song, since its lyrics was already understandable. The lyrics says, even if you can't comprehend of the things in life, even if you had nothing or nobody to lean on, there He is. There would always be that someone up above, looking and always willing to be your firm foundation. In love, you constantly got each others back so no need to worry about nothing or everything. There won't be a letting go of each others hand.
On the last stanza, even if it is truly distant to each other, just think of the moments that you were together. Miles and miles away, but the heart and soul would not be leaving each others side. Distance is just a number but the feeling would remain unscathed. The love of our God would endure no matter how much of sinners we are. God might be invisible but His love was abundant that even if we choose to let go of His hand, He will stay unaffected.
