New President of the Philippines
For six long years, we have been very rampant of the progress of our country. We believed that one day, at the right time, we will be led by a good leader of the whole nation. 2010, there he was, proclaimed as the president, Benigno Simeon Aquino III or known as PNoy, takes over after Macapagal's alleged dirty administration. All people declared a victory for another savior-to-be of the country was elected. For the first 6 months during his administration, he worked hard for our country. Nevertheless, he even approved new bills and law to secure the nation's sake. After a year, then a year after, then a year another after, his administration became bald. We thought that he's already that one person who deserved the said position, but we were all wrong. Though, I'm not saying that he's a bad president but maybe even the best falls down sometimes.
As a Filipino youth, I was weighing every presidential candidate. I heard and read all of their platforms and I even watched presidential debates just to know who will be the next close to the very deserving president. I am truly one of those people who's desperate, hungry and thirsty of change. I prayed and asked for God's guidance that He would give us a sign so that every voters will be enlightened and should vote wisely of having another savior-to-be of the whole nation.
I made up my mind that I would encourage everyone to vote for her (just encouraged everyone because I'm not a registered voter hihi). She whose capability of running a country is more than among others. Served our country for more than 25 years and fought for our rights in the congress and senate. She who choose to fight with us over her family. She was Miriam Defensor Santiago, the Iron Lady of Asia. She was known for being brave and imitable among her battles; her human-coated enemies in the senate and her battle of life. Even diagnosed of cancer, she never gave up putting her life around stress. When she declared that she will be running as presidential candidate, many supported her including me. Then the battle started, the election day came. This was the battle of her life where she was failed by her own-loved people. She was behind among the other candidates, then Rodrigo "Rody/ Digong" Duterte won his greatest battle of his life.
Rodrigo "Rody/ Digong" Duterte who was a former Davao City Mayor, won on his first run in presidential position. Aside from Sen. Miriam, I was fascinated and amazed with this guy. His humility and humbleness served as his asset in winning the hearts of the Filipino people. Though still the unofficial result was given, I am still happy of the decision of the Filipino people who voted for him. Many planted black propaganda's over his campaign and other malicious issues, but he still had that die-hard fans who wants to acquire strict discipline and true change of the whole nation's sake.
I expect him to stay humble as he was before, that guy who chooses to use not so expensive things just to look good for other people. I AM EXPECTING BIG CHANGE! People nowadays are killing, gun shots, massacre and even those people who had taken drugs are jut "trippin" over others lives. I am expecting less criminality, drug abuse, women abuse, rapes, murders and even graft and corruption all over the country. When these things would still exist during his presidential years then he's still not the right person for our country. But I had these high hopes and trust that he will govern our country right. Not that as progressive to ease these everything in a short span of time, but at least, he will lessen all of these and be a happy and indiscipline country in the future. A kind of president that has a heart of the Filipino youth and children all over the country.
However, we still need to remember that the true essence of change never starts from big things, it starts with the smallest amount of this country has--- OURSELVES.
